GLS210 Survey of Global Issues

A study of global issues and challenges such as crime, pollution, war, poverty, drug addiction and racial tensions, with a focus on researching the historical roots and modern implications of an issue.

GLS220 World Religions

Religion as an effort to make sense of a chaotic world and to shape it into something predictable and manageable, has been around in many and widely varied forms since the earliest times in human history. This course is intended to help students explore human religiosity by engaging with current religious traditions, in terms of their histories, cultural contexts, and varied expressions, all with the goal of developing the ability to understand, engage, and effectively carry the Gospel of Jesus Christ into a highly diverse and constantly changing world.

HIS221 Roots of Christianity

This course is a study of the roots of the Christian faith, beginning with the Biblical record in Acts, that laid the foundation for the early generations of the church. It works to place the Biblical record in its historical context using research, including original sources.

HLP80 Personal Wellness Appraisal and Improvement

This course Introduces concepts of fitness for living. A personal fitness evaluation and planned program for fitness are included.

MAT121 Problem-Solving Strategies

This course is an introduction to classic and nontraditional problem-solving strategies. Students will learn how to successfully gather information, arrange it, implement one or more strategies to best solve a problem, and then communicate the solution in both written and oral form. Above all, this class will teach how to think creatively and critically and how to solve problems collaboratively.
